Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 11/2 Cup,soak Kadala chickpeas
- 2 nos Raw banana kaya
- 10 nos Bird eye chilly(kandhari mulak kandhari mulak
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 Cup,grated Coconut
- Salt, to taste
- For Seasoning
- 4 Shallots — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- Curry leaves little
Preparation
Step 1
Add chickpeas,cut banana,bird eye chilly,turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker.
Step 2
Pour 2 cup water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.
Step 3
Warm the oil in a pan and add mustard seed,when it starts allow to crackle add shallots and curry leaves,cook for 10 seconds and mix it with the puzhukk.
Step 4
Grind the grated coconut with cumin seed.
Step 5
Mix it with the puzhukk and cook again for 2 minutes.
Step 6
Kadala kaya puzhukk is ready to serve.serve with rice or kanji.
Tip
The binding point is everything — cook the mixture just until it holds shape when pressed. Overcooked, it turns hard; undercooked, it crumbles.
