Instant Fruit Salad
A fresh, crunchy side that adds a cool contrast to the spiced dishes on a Kerala meal plate. Light seasoning, fresh ingredients, and a simplicity that lets each component speak for itself.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Pudding mix A pack, french vanilla flavour
- 2 - Whole milk
- 1 - Banana
- Black grapes
- Strawberries
- Pineapple(you can put fruits of your choice
Preparation
Step 1
Mix whole milk and pudding mix ingredients in a electric mixer until well blended.
Step 2
Do not use all the milk once, first use 3 cups of milk and then if the consistency of the mixture is very thick, use some more milk, until you get a creamy but pouring consistency of the mixture.
Step 3
You can also use evaporated milk along with whole milk for a richer taste.
Step 4
Cut the fruits and put it into the pudding /custard mix.
Step 5
It is better if you put only banana into the mix and the rest of fruits should be put in when ready to serve in order not to make the custard sour from some of the juices of fruits.
Step 6
Instead of making the traditional indian custard this is an easy way n tastes just like the one made from scratch.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
