Garlic Chicken
Garlic Chicken makes for a great dish good for parties and special occasions. The garlic flavored and awesome chicken delicacy is unique and special with no deep frying involved for chicken pieces.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 500 g Chicken pieces washed and drained, medium sized
- 4 nos Tomato — chopped
- 1 cup Onion — finely sliced
- 4 tbsp Garlic — crushed
- 2 Dsp Lime juice
- 3 tbsp Kashmiri chilly powder
- Natural food color A pinch, red
- 5 nos Green chillies — slit
- Sugar A pinch
- 1 cup Water
- Coriander leaves Few — chopped
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing garlic chicken, first prepare a mixture of crushed garlic, lime juice, chilly powder, natural red color and required salt. Marinate the chicken pieces in this mixture for 1 hour.
Step 2
Warm the oil in a pan and fry the onions to a golden brown color until crisp. Remove the fried onions and set aside.
Step 3
Grind together fried onions and tomato pieces to a fine paste.
Step 4
In the remaining oil add marinated chicken pieces and 1 cup water. Add salt if required. Cook in low fire until the gravy acquires a thick consistency.
Step 5
When the chicken pieces are cooked, add ground onion tomato paste and fry in low heat till oil accumulates on top.
Step 6
Add slit green chillies, a pinch of sugar and chopped coriander leaves. Mix in low heat and remove the vessel from fire.
Step 7
Garlic chicken, a Mouth watering dish, is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Do not boil the curry hard after adding coconut milk. A gentle simmer is all you need — vigorous boiling can cause the coconut milk to split.
