Garbanzo Beans - Kadala Stir Fry
Kadala, onion, grated coconut and other ingredients are cooked together to make thoran.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Garbanzo beans soaked overnight and cooked
- 1/4 cup Onion — sliced
- 1/4 cup Coconut grated — optional
- 3 nos Garlic pods
- 3 nos Red chilly
- 2 nos Green chilly — slit
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves — finely chopped
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Roughly grind onion, garlic and red chillies. Heat oil, let the mustard seeds crackle, curry leaves.
Step 2
Add ground paste cook well.
Step 3
Add kadala, turmeric, salt and mix together.
Step 4
Add grated coconut and mix together.
Step 5
Garbanzo beans / kadala thoran, an easy to prepare and Side dish recipe with rice is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
