Fried Eggless Crispy Banana Balls
Eggs cooked the Kerala way — with a rich masala of shallots, tomatoes, and spices. Fast enough for a weeknight, flavourful enough to feel like effort went in.
Ingredientsfor 10 servings
- 2 cup Wheat flour / Maida
- 1/2 cup Semolina
- 1/4 cup Oil
- 2 nos. Ripe banana
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 Pinch Salt
- Oil For frying
Preparation
Step 1
Get a bowl and add ripe bananas, maida and sugar. Stir everything together thoroughly with your hand.
Step 2
Then add semolina and mix again.
Step 3
Add the remain ingredients except oil for frying. Stir everything together thoroughly and rest for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Heat enough oil in a thick bottomed pan to fry in hot oil the banana balls. Gently drop small portions into the oil and cook until golden brown on all sides. Put on paper towels to drain. Repeat with remaining batter.
Step 5
Crispy Banana Balls is ready.
Tip
Frying the boiled eggs briefly before adding to the curry gives them a golden skin that holds up better in the gravy.
