Fish Finger Chips
The smell of fish cooking in coconut oil with curry leaves is the smell of every fishing village kitchen in Kerala. Quick to cook, deeply satisfying, and always served with hot rice.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500 g Good fleshy fish
- 1/2 cup Allpurpose flour Maida
- 1 nos Egg
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup Bread crumbs — roasted
Preparation
Step 1
Clean the fish thoroughly.
Step 2
Slice the fish into long finger like pieces.
Step 3
Appy salt and half the pepper powder and keep it for about 1 hour.
Step 4
Beat the egg.
Step 5
Add maida to it and bring it to a dripping consistency. (Add water if necessary).
Step 6
Add salt and the remaining pepper to this batter and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 7
Heat the oil in a frying pan.
Step 8
Dip the fish pieces in the batter, roll it in the bread crumbs.
Step 9
Fry in hot oil them in hot oil.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
