Fish Curry - Kerala Style Easy
A deeply satisfying fish curry - kerala style easy simmered slowly with freshly ground spices and coconut. The kind of gravy that thickens as it rests and rewards patience with layered, rounded flavour.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1/2 kg Fish
- 1 nos Coconut
- 2 piece Drumsticks (Muringakkai)
- 2 nos Green chillies
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 6 piece Small onions (Kunjulli)
- Salt, to taste
- Curry leaves A, a few
Preparation
Step 1
Clean the fish well with lime and salt.
Step 2
Grind together coconut, green chillies, turmeric powder, chilly powder and small onions.
Step 3
Choose the proper vessel for cooking the dish(any clay dish is good).
Step 4
Boil the water and add the paste to the water followed by fish and drumsticks.
Step 5
Keep it on flame for another 20 minutes.
Step 6
Season with salt.
Step 7
Add curry leaves.
Step 8
Keep the entire curry for some time on the flame.
Step 9
The drumstick fish curry is ready.:-).
Tip
Let the curry rest for at least 15 minutes after cooking — the flavours deepen as it sits. Reheated curry almost always tastes better than fresh.
