Egg Potato Fry
Boiled egg is filled with a spicy potato mixture and deep fried.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 nos Egg — cut into half and remove yolk, hard boiled
- 1 nos Potato boiled and — mashed
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 1 nos Egg white beaten
- 5 piece Bread slices
- 1/2 cup Onion — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Green chilly — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Ginger — chopped
- Red chilly powder A pinch
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Coriander powder — chopped
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in kadai, sautT onion till lightly browned.
Step 2
Add garam masala, red chilly powder, green chilly, curry leaves, coriander leaves, turmeric powder and required salt. Fry well.
Step 3
Stir in mashed potato and yolk and Fold everything together gently. Allow to cool.
Step 4
Get the half piece of egg and fill the hollow space with potato masala.
Step 5
Get a bread slice, dip in water and place the egg inside. Squeeze out excess water and make a covering. Repeat this with remaining egg pieces.
Step 6
Make a batter(not so thick) by adding water into the maida flour.
Step 7
Dip the egg in flour batter.
Step 8
Fry in hot oil the coated eggs in hot oil till golden brown and crispy.
Step 9
An easy and Evening time snack recipe, for kids as well as elders, is ready.
Step 10
Serve potato coated egg hot with green chutney or sauce.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
