Egg Poori
another variety of poori among the different types of poori. This is a healthy, tasty poori. Commonly, Poori is a very famous breakfast in South Indian Cuisine. The deeply fried pooris are dipped in egg, cardamom powder mixture and again deeply fried in oil.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Wheat flour 1 cup
- Egg 2
- Cardamom powder 1 tsp
- Sugar 3 tbsp
- Water, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Oil 1 cup
Preparation
Step 1
Get wheat flour in a bowl.
Step 2
Make a dough by adding salt and water little by little.
Step 3
Make small small balls from the dough and then make it flatten shape using chappathi maker or press.
Step 4
Repeat same with the remaining dough.
Step 5
Then heat a pan with oil and put poori to it, let it cooked and puffed well.
Step 6
Repeat same with the remaining poori's and keep it on a plate.
Step 7
In a spacious mixing bowl, and put egg, sugar and cardamom powder to it beat it well.
Step 8
Then put one poori to the egg mix and dip it well.
Step 9
Then again heat pan with oil and fry the dipped poori and when we see the egg layer above poori is cooked take it out.
Step 10
Do same with the remaining poori's and serve it hot or cool.
Tip
Frying the boiled eggs briefly before adding to the curry gives them a golden skin that holds up better in the gravy.
