Easy Soya Chunks Masala
termed a great dish especially for those who want to refrain from eating poultry dishes. Soya chunks or soya nuggets are considered protein rich and healthy.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Soya Chunks
- 2 nos Onion sliced, medium
- 2 nos Tomatoes — chopped
- 2 To Green chillies
- 3 nos Garlic cloves
- Ginger A small piece
- Curry leaves, a few
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Eastern Chicken masala powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Easy Soya Chunks Masala, first soak the soya chunks in hot water for around 30 minutes. Or so.
Step 2
Discard water and squeeze the excess water off the soya chunks and set aside. You can also cut it into halves.
Step 3
Thinly slice the onions, tomatoes, ginger and garlic.
Step 4
Pour oil into a pan and heat it and add the onions, ginger, green chillies, garlic and curry leaves.
Step 5
Cook until the onions turn brown.
Step 6
Add tomatoes and cook until it blends well.
Step 7
Add chicken masala powder and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Stir fry very well for a couple of minutes, till the raw smell leaves.
Step 9
Add the drained soya chunks and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 10
Add sufficient water along with salt and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 11
Add a little chopped coriander leaves (optional).
Step 12
Simmer till the soya chunks are cooked well and the gravy becomes thick.
Step 13
Garnish Easy Soya Chunks Masala with coriander leaves.

This is one of the easiest versions to stir up a spicy soya curry with dry masala. An attempt to give a naadan touch to the modern-day cuisine style trend. :) You can also try out variations by throwing in a couple of cooked baby potatoes or other veggies of your choice and making it all the more wholesome.
