Easy Prawns Rice
A one-pot rice dish that brings together grains, spices, and vegetables or meat in a single satisfying meal. The rice absorbs every flavour in the pot and comes out fragrant, colourful, and complete.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Prawns A, a few
- 250 g Rice
- 1 nos Onion
- 2 nos Tomato
- 1/2 inch Ginger
- 3 nos Garlic pods
- 2 nos Green chilly
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
- Oil, to taste
- 1 tsp Biriyani masala
- Coriander leaves, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
Step 2
Add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chilly, chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and biriyani masala and cook it, stirring for 10 minutes on a low flame.
Step 3
Add prawns and sauté. Add water as needed.
Step 4
When the water boils, add rice.
Step 5
Put the lid on and cook till the whole water gets evaporated.
Tip
Soak the rice for at least 20 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking and prevents the grains from breaking.
