Easy Chicken Chatti Pathiri
A very famous classic North Malabar snack usually prepared during the Ramadan season. This recipe is simple and easy to do. We need to cook chicken and shred. We can serve this recipe as Breakfast or dinner.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- For the filling
- 500 g Chicken boneless
- 3 Onion
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1+1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- Coriander leaves a hand ful
- Curry leaves, a few
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
- For preparing dosa
- 11/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1 Egg
- Salt pinch
- Water, to taste
- For coating
- 3 Egg
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt pinch
Preparation
Step 1
Gather and prep all your ingredients before you begin.
Step 2
Cook chicken with 1 tsp pepper powder,1/2 tsp turmeric powder,salt and water as needed.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a skillet and cook onion for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add ginger garlic paste,chopped green chilly and stir for a few seconds or until the raw smell disappears.
Step 5
Add pepper powder,turmeric powder,garam masala,salt,coriander leaves and curry leaves.Fold everything together gently and take it off the heat.
Step 6
Whisk 3 egg with pepper powder and salt to taste.
Step 7
Mix all purpose flour with enough water and salt to make a smooth batter.Make medium size dosas.we dont want to cook the both sides,cook each dosas for 1 minute.
Step 8
Dip each dosas in egg mixtute.
Step 9
Grease the saucepan with ghee or oil and place over low heat.place the egg dipped dosa in the pan.spread chicken filling evenly over the dosa.dip the second dosa in the egg and place over the chicken filling.repeat the layering for 5 dosas.the top layer should be the dosa.
Step 10
Pour the remaining egg add add some chopped coriander leaves on its top.Let it cook for 20 minutes in low heat.
Step 11
Cover the pan with a plate and gently turn the pan upside down,so that the layered dosas will fall onto the plate.now the top part should be placed on the pan.Put the lid on and cook in low heat for 5 minutes.
Step 12
Easy chicken chatti pathiri is ready.
Tip
Bone-in chicken gives a richer, more flavourful gravy than boneless. The marrow flavours the curry as it cooks.
