Easy Carrot Halwa - North Indian Special
Grated carrot cooked in milk, sugar, ghee and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Carrot — grated
- 1 tbsp All purpose flour Maida
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 11/2 tbsp Ghee
- Cardamom powder, as needed
- 1 tbsp Cashew nuts — chopped
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing easy carrot halwa, first heat milk in a deep bottomed pan. Stir in maida and Stir everything together thoroughly so that no lumps are formed.
Step 2
Add grated carrot and sugar and continue stirring in low flame.
Step 3
Add ghee and give it a good stir.
Step 4
In another pan heat a little ghee and fry cashew nuts till golden in color.
Step 5
Add fried cashew nuts and cardamom powder into the carrot mixture and continue stirring in low flame until a thick consistency is attained.
Step 6
Transfer the carrot halwa contents into a ghee greased plate. When cool, cut into desired shapes.
Step 7
Easy carrot halwa, a mouth watering easy recipe, is ready.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
