Dry Fish Stir Fry With Coconut(Meen)
Dry fish is shredded and stir fried with onion, garlic and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 100 g Dried fish
- 2 nos Garlic cloves — crushed
- ¼ tsp Ginger — crushed
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tbsp Coconut — grated
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 1 Stem Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
First soak the fish in water and remove the bones. Drain and shred it.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and cook ginger, garlic and chopped onion.
Step 3
Add chilly powder. Fry for few seconds and add shreded fish. Mix and fry well.
Step 4
Mix the coconut with turmeric powder sprinkling some water and add to the fish mixture. Lower the flame and cover the pan. Let the fish to cook well in the juice of coconut. Add curry leaves.
Step 5
Add 1 tsp of oil and Fold everything together gently.
Step 6
Dry fish stir fry is ready to serve.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
