Dried Green Chilly
Green chillies are cooked in grated coconut and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1/2 cup Green chillies
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 tsp Ginger — finely chopped
- 1 nos Onion — finely chopped
- Tamarind A small piece (Puli)
- 1 Spring Curry leaves
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing dried green chilly, grind grated coconut lightly on a stone.
Step 2
Mix together onion, ginger, curry leaves, salt, tamarind and ground coconut with your hand. Add little water. Do not make it watery.
Step 3
Add green chillies to this mixture.
Step 4
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil. Pour the mixture in it. Close the lid and cook.
Step 5
After some time remove the lid and stir it. take it off the heat when water has evaporated completely.
Step 6
Dried green chilly, a nadan recipe, is ready. Serve as a side dish with kanji or rice.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
