Dal Curry
A and popular punjabi recipe that goes well with rice and phulkas. It is very good for growing kids.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Sambar dal
- 5 small Onion
- 2 Green chillies
- 2 Tablespoon Coconut oil
- 1 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 Teaspoon Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon (Jeerakam)
- Ginger and garlic — chopped
- Curry leaves
- Salt for taste
Preparation
Step 1
Add oil in a pan and add chillies, curry leaves and small onions and cook well.
Step 2
Next, add crushed jeera, pepper, ginger, garlic and turmeric powder and cook well.
Step 3
Next, add the boiled dal and cooke well. Wait till oil seperates.
Step 4
Dal curry is ready.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
