Crispy Potato Balls
Mashed potato mixed with bread and other ingredients and deep fried to prepare evening time snack.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Potatoes cooked and — mashed
- 1 nos Bread slice — crushed
- 1 nos Egg
- 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
- Nutmeg seed powder A pinch, Jathikka
- Dry bread crumbs, to taste
- Oil — for frying
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing crispy potato balls, first season the mashed potatoes with nutmeg powder, pepper and required salt.
Step 2
Add the crushed bread and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Beat the egg lightly and keep 2 dsp aside and pour the remaining egg into the potato mixture.
Step 4
Knead well and make small lime sized balls.
Step 5
Dip each potato ball in egg and coat with bread crumbs.
Step 6
Pour oil into a pan and heat it and fry in hot oil potato balls till golden in color.
Step 7
Crispy potato balls, an apt evening time snack is ready.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
