Corn Flour Cashew Sweet
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Corn flour — roasted
- 1/4 cup Cashew nuts — powdered
- 11/2 cup Sugar
- Water, to taste
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing corn flour cashew sweet, mix corn flour and cashew powder in a bowl.
Step 2
Boil sugar with water till it dissolves.
Step 3
Add the corn flour and cashew powder mixture slowly, mixing continuously.
Step 4
Pour ghee at intervals.
Step 5
Add cardamom powder and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
Apply ghee on a tray and put the mixture in it. Press it a bit with a spoon.
Step 7
Corn flour cashew sweet is ready. Slice it and serve.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
