- Garlic : 5 cloves
- Ginger : 1 piece
- Green chillies : 2 nos
- Tomato : 1 no (chopped
- Garam masala : 1 tsp — crushed
- Coriander powder : 1 tsp
- Cumin powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
- Chilli powder : 1 tsp
- Coconut milk : 1 ½ cup
- Coriander leaves, a few
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the channa and set aside.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil, fry onion, garlic, ginger and garam masala.
Step 3
Cook about 2 minutes.3) Transfer this into a mixer. Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander, cumin powder.
Step 4
In the pan, heat oil. Add this garam masala and fry well. cook until the oil clears on top.5) Add the tomato and green chillies.
Step 5
Add the channa and 1 cup water.
Step 6
Cook the masala well.9) When the water is thickened, add the coconut milk and cook it.
Step 7
Coconut milk channa curry is ready.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
