Coconut Milk Bread Toast
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 10 Bread slices
- 11/2 cup Coconut milk
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- Cardamom powder pinch
- Salt pinch
Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, and add egg,sugar and a pinch of salt.whisk well.
Step 2
Add coconut milk and Fold everything together gently.
Step 3
Remove the edges of each bread slices and cut into triangle shape.
Step 4
Dip each bread slices into coconut milk for a second.
Step 5
Heat a pan and toast the bread slices in medium flame.
Step 6
Remove it from pan when it goes golden brown.
Step 7
Coconut milk bread toast is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
