Choora Meen Curry
A tasty spicy fish preparation with Choora or tuna fish. The tangy flavored fish delicacy goes well with hot rice for noon day meals. unique and special with choora fish pieces cooked in a spicy coconut mixture.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Choora meen
- Ginger — sliced
- 25 nos Garlic
- 3 nos Green chilli
- 10 nos Small onion
- 1/2 Part Grated coconut
- 2 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1 tbsp Corriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- Salt for taste
- 4 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 3-4 piece Kodampuli
- Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Choora Meen Curry, first make a smooth paste of grated coconut, chilli powder, coriander powder, Turmeric powder adding required amount of water.
Step 2
Get a kadai, heat oil and add chopped Ginger, garlic, half of small onion, green chillies. To this add the coconut paste, tamarind, salt and fish and required amount of water and keep it in Flame and boil the same in medium flame till oil separates.
Step 3
Cook until done.
Step 4
Then Heat the oil in another pan and add small onion and curry leaves. Fry till the onion changes to brown color.
Step 5
Add the same to the kadai and remove from fire. Choora meen curry is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
