Cherupayar (Green Gram) Puzhuku (Step By Step Photos)

Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- Cherupayar (boiled) : 1 big cup
- Onion : 1 small
- Tomato :1 medium
- Mustard seeds, a few
- Curry leaves : 2 leaves
- Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
- Chilly powder : 1 tsp
- Coriander powder: 1 ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder : ¼ tsp
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in pan. let the mustard seeds crackle.
Step 2
Add curry leaves.
Step 3
Add onion and ginger garlic paste.
Step 4
Add chilly and turmeric and coriander powder.
Step 5
When onion is half done add tomato also.
Step 6
Add cherupayar and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 7
Finally add grinded coconut also. Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Cherupayar puzhukku is ready.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
