A innovative dish prepared from red spinach. Red Spinach, termed as Red Amaranth leaves is actually Chuvanna Cheera in Malayalam. actually a duplicate dish of Malayalee favorite 'Avial'.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Red spinach A bunch (Cheera)
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 nos Small onions (Kunjulli)
- 5 piece Green Mango
- 1/4 Of Coconut — grated
- 1 Stem Curry leaves
- 2 tsp Coconut oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the delicious and innovative dish, first wash cheera and cut into small pieces.
Step 2
Grind together coconut, chilly powder and small onions into a thick paste.
Step 3
Add this with a little water to the chopped cheera.
Step 4
Cook on a low flame.
Step 5
When it is half cooked, add mango pieces.
Step 6
When it is done, add salt and oil.
Step 7
Add a few curry leaves into it.
Step 8
Goes well with rice.
Step 9
You can also use tamarind(puli) instead of mango.
