Carrot Payasam Easy
Carrot Payasam is one of the easiest of desserts very popular in sadhyas and special occasions. Carrot Payasam Easy can be easily prepared at home with readily available ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Carrot
- 200 g Sugar
- 1 litre Milk
- 8 nos Cardamom (Elakka)
- 50 g Cashewnuts
- 50 g Raisins Onakka munthiri
- 50 g Ghee
- 1 Tin Milkmaid
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Carrot Payasam Easy, first peel the carrots and clean them well.
Step 2
Grate the carrots using a grater.
Step 3
Put the grated carrots in a mixer grinder and beat it.
Step 4
Heat up a vessel(preferably Urali).
Step 5
Put the beaten carrots and sugar into this vessel. give it a good stir.
Step 6
Add 2 spoons of ghee to this mixture and continue stirring.
Step 7
When it's cooked, add some water and milk.
Step 8
Allow the milk to thicken.
Step 9
Add powdered cardamom.
Step 10
Fry the cashewnuts and raisins in the remaining ghee and add this into the payasam.
Step 11
Finally, break open the milkmaid tin and pour the contents into the carrot mixture.
Step 12
Take it off the heat., when Carrot Payasam Easy is done.
Tip
Keep stirring throughout — the cream that forms on the sides should be scraped back in. That is where the richness comes from.
