Bun With Stuffed Egg
A quick and satisfying egg dish that proves you do not need expensive ingredients to eat well. Boiled eggs in a spiced gravy, or scrambled with onions and curry leaves — simple Kerala cooking at its most practical.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 nos Bun
- 2 nos Egg
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- 1 nos Green chilly — chopped
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Boil eggs and set aside.
Step 2
Pour oil into a kadai and heat it, add onion and fry till transparent. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilly, chopped tomato, garam masala powder and salt.
Step 3
Cut boiled eggs into halves and add this to the masala. Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Make a slit in the side of the bun and stuff egg with masala inside.
Step 5
Heat both sides of the stuffed bun. Serve hot.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
