Broken Wheat Dosa | Healthy Breakfast Dosa
I learnt Broken Wheat Dosa from my mom and yes it tastes great, looks good and is completely different from the dosa we make using plain wheat flour. This is an instant dosa variety prepared from healthy broken wheat. Broken wheat is prepared by grinding raw wheat coarsely.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Broken wheat Soak for 15 minutes
- 3-4 tbsp Coconut — grated
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Grind broken wheat with require water until smooth and fine rava like texture.
Step 2
Grind coconut with little water to make a coarse paste.
Step 3
Mix both ground broken wheat and coconut by adding required salt and water.
Step 4
Heat up a dosa pan, keep the flame at medium heat. Pour a ladleful of the ground batter on the hot tawa and spread in a circular motion.
Step 5
Drizzle a few drops of oil and cook for a minute or until the base turns slightly brown. Flip to the other side and cook for another minute. Flip again, and transfer.
Step 6
Serve while still hot with any side dish of your choice.
Tip
Spread the batter in a quick circular motion from the centre outward. Do not go back over areas you have already spread.
