Bread Nirachathu-Stuffed Bread With Chicken Masala And Egg
Bread Nirachathu is another malabar dish served in ifthar.The whole bread is filled with a chicken filling and boiled eggs and coated with an egg batter then its shallow fried in ghee or oil.You van substitute the chicken filling with beef.So lets see how I prepare it..
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 Whole Bread
- 2,hard boiled Egg
- For chicken filling
- 150 g Chicken
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 3 Green chilly — chopped
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- 3/4 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt, to taste
- Coriander leaves, a few
- 2 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the chicken with 1 tsp pepper powder,1/4 tsp Turmeric powder,salt to taste and mince it.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and cook onion,green chilly,ginger garlic paste.When soft add cooked chicken,garam masala,pepper powder,turmeric powder salt and mix will.Cook till the mixture is dry and add coriander leaves.
Step 3
Cut a 1 inch thick piece of bread in the top and make a hole.
Step 4
Stuff 2 tbsp chicken filling.
Step 5
Stuff a piece of boiled egg.
Step 6
Repeat the process and fill the bread completely.
Step 7
Mix maida with little water and pich of salt.seal the bread piece with that maida mix.
Step 8
Whisk egg and a pinch of sugar,roll the whole bread in it and pan-fry it in oil.
Step 9
Stuffed Bread is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
