Bread Delight Easy
Straightforward Kerala cooking — good ingredients treated well, spiced with confidence, and served without pretence. The kind of food that tastes like someone's kitchen, not a restaurant.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 4 nos Bread slices remove the brown edges
- 1 nos Onion — finely chopped
- 1 nos Tomato — finely chopped
- 2 nos Green chillies — finely chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp Semolina Rava/Sooji
- 4 tsp Butter
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the bread slices to half.
Step 2
Mix together the chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies, rava, salt and 2 tsp of butter.
Step 3
Get 1 tbsp of this mix and spread it on the bread which is cut into two parts.
Step 4
Repeat the same procedure with all the bread pieces.
Step 5
Apply a little oil or butter on a frying pan.
Step 6
Roast both the sides of the bread.
Step 7
Repeat the procedure for all the bread pieces.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
