Boiled Egg Sandwich - For Kids
A quick and satisfying egg dish that proves you do not need expensive ingredients to eat well. Boiled eggs in a spiced gravy, or scrambled with onions and curry leaves — simple Kerala cooking at its most practical.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 nos Boiled eggs — sliced
- Butter, to taste
- 4 nos Bread slices
- 2 nos Cheese slices
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 1 nos Tomato — sliced
- 1/2 Of Cucumber — sliced
- 2 nos Lettuce
- Pepper powder, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing boiled egg sandwich, spread butter on both sides of the bread slices and toast lightly in a tawa.
Step 2
Spread mayonnaise in the inner sides of the two bread slices.
Step 3
Now take one of this bread slice and place a cheese slice. Top up with a sliced boiled egg and sprinkle some pepper powder.
Step 4
Now layer cucumber, onion, tomato and lettuce and spread mayonnaise on the top.
Step 5
Cover with the remaining buttered slice. Repeat same with remaining bread slices.
Step 6
Boiled egg sandwich, a simple as well as nutritious breakfast recipe, for kids as well as elders, is ready.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
