Beetroot Sweet Dish
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 1 nos Beetroot
- 25 g Jaggery Sarkara
- Cardamon powder Few (Elakka)
- 1/4 Of Coconut — grated
Preparation
Step 1
Remove the skin of the beetroot. Grate the beetroot on a scraper.
Step 2
Add grated coconut, jaggery and cardamom powder to the beetroot.
Step 3
Stir everything together thoroughly and set aside for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Beetroot sweet dish is ready and serve.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
