Beena`s Nendhramkai Peel Dish
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 4 nos Well grown Nendhram Kai`s Peel
- 2 nos Onion
- Coconut, to taste — grated
- Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves A, a few
- Bengal gram (Kadalaparippu)
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Cut nendhram kai`s peel into small pieces.
Step 2
Allow to crackle mustard, Bengal gram and curry leaves in oil.
Step 3
Add onions and sauté.
Step 4
Add the chopped kai peel and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 5
Add little turmeric powder and salt to taste and mix.
Step 6
Add little water to cook the content.
Step 7
Put the lid on and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 8
When it`s done, add grated coconut and Stir everything together thoroughly.
