Beef Roast Kerala Style - Delicious
Beef Roast prepared in Kerala Style is a dish where cubed red meat is cooked and roasted with natural herbs and spices. Beef Roast in Kerala Style is a classic signature dish of Malayalee population.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 2 kg Beef
- 1 large Ginger
- 7 nos Garlic cloves
- 1 tsp Black pepper whole
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 nos Tomato Tomato blended in mixi and make like paste, large size
- 1 tsp Tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp Vinegar
- Salt, to taste
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Clean beef(boneless) and cut into small cubes and set aside.
Step 2
Make a paste of ginger, garlic, black pepper and 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
Step 3
Mix beef with this paste along with some salt.
Step 4
Cook it well in a pressure cooker(apprx. 20 miutes).
Step 5
When its done, separate beef cubes from the gravy and set aside.
Step 6
Heat some oil in a non stick pan.
Step 7
Oil should not be very hot.
Step 8
Add coriander powder, chilly powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder and garam masala.
Step 9
Cook it, stirring for a minute on a very low flame.
Step 10
When it turns light brown colour, add the gravy(separated from beef) and cook this for 2 or 3 minutes, till the oil starts to separate.
Step 11
Add tomato paste, tomato sauce and vinegar one by one and cook again.
Step 12
When oil separates, add the cooked beef and stir it well.
Step 13
Cook this, till it becomes dry and dark brown.
Tip
Coconut oil is not optional in a Kerala fry. It adds a flavour that no other oil can replicate.
