Ingredientsfor 10 servings
- 1/2 kg Beef
- 1/4 kg Potatoes
- 2 nos Onions Chopped, large
- 5 nos Garlic cloves — chopped
- 1/2 inch Piece Ginger — chopped
- 5 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 2 tsp Pepper — coarsely ground
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Coriander leaves, a few
- Curry leaves, a few
- Salt, to taste
- Bread crumbs, to taste
- 3 nos Eggs
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Cook beef with little salt and pepper powder, until beef becomes tender.
Step 2
Shred the cooked beef with a fork. Or you can shred in a food processor but do not grind to a paste.
Step 3
Cook potatoes with little salt and mash them well too.
Step 4
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan.
Step 5
Cook onion, garlic, ginger and green chillies together in the given order.
Step 6
Add coriander powder, red chilly powder and turmeric powder.
Step 7
Cook well.
Step 8
Add garam masala powder, pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Finally, add mashed beef and potatoes into this and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 10
Beat eggs with little salt in a bowl.
Step 11
Make small thin oval shaped cutlets with beef potato mix.
Step 12
Dip the cutlet in the beaten egg. Coat them with a thin layer of bread crumbs and pan-fry.
Step 13
Serve while still hot with tomato sauce.
Tip
Drain on a wire rack instead of paper towels — the rack keeps the bottom from getting steamy and losing its crispness.
