Beef Coconut Fry
A dish prepared on holiday and on specific occasions. This flavoured mildly spiced dish also includes coconut and other spices which take you to another level.
Ingredientsfor 8 servings
- 1 kg Beef
- 3 large Savala
- 2 tbsp Garlic — crushed
- 2 tbsp Ginger — crushed
- 1/2 Portion Coconut
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 21/2 tbsp Meat masala
- 11/2 tbsp Pepper — crushed
- 1 tbsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Fennel powder
- 3 Green chilly
- 1 cup Coconut milk — optional
- 1 cup Water — optional
- Salt
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- Curry leaves handful
Preparation
Step 1
Cut beef into small square pieces.completely drain the water from it. Then marinate with coriander powder, 2 tbsp meat masala, garam masala, 1 1/2 tbsp ginger and 1 1/2 tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp pepper, savala chopped, coconut chopped and salt. Keep it for half an hour.
Step 2
Get that in a pressure cooker and close the lid and let 6 whistles to come.
Step 3
Heat a pan add oil add mustard seeds and fenugreek let it allow to crackle then add balance GI get,garlic and masalas and pepper fry till nice aroma comes then add beef to it with its own water.
Step 4
At this point you can add 1 cup coconut milk and 1 cup water and used as curry for appam chappathi, Idiyappam, kappa etc. T.
Step 5
Then the curry will look like this.
Step 6
If you don't add water and coconut milk then let it drain completely in a medium flame. cook occassionally.
Step 7
You can add lilltle more oil if needed and add more curry leaves.
Step 8
Now beef coconut fry is ready to serve with rice or chappathi.
Tip
A heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet gives you the best results for a proper Kerala fry. Thin pans burn the spices before the meat dries.
