Banana Fry
A proper Kerala fry — banana tossed with shallots, curry leaves, and ground spices until each piece is dry, dark, and packed with heat. The coconut oil is not optional.
Ingredientsfor 1 servings
- 1 nos Ripe Banana — cut into small pieces, not over ripe
- Ghee — for frying
- Sugar for sprinkling
Preparation
Step 1
Cut banana into small pieces.
Step 2
Heat some ghee in a frying pan.
Step 3
When it is hot, put the banana pieces in it.
Step 4
When it becomes light golden brown, sprinkle sugar on the top.
Step 5
Cook till it becomes a little more brown and then remove from fire.
Step 6
Serve while still hot.
Step 7
And healthy snack for kids and for adults too who aren`t worried about calories.
Tip
Coconut oil is not optional in a Kerala fry. It adds a flavour that no other oil can replicate.
