Banana Flower Vada
Banana flower is ground with other ingredients and deep fried in oil.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 nos Banana flower big one cleaned and diced small
- 1 cup Bengal gram dal Kadala parippu
- 4 tbsp Rice flour
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 3 nos Green chillies
- 10 Leaves Curry leaves
- 2 tsp Coriander leaves chopped small
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing banana flower vada, soak bengal gram dal in water for half an hour.
Step 2
Drain and grind with green chillies, cumin seeds and half of cleaned banana flower. 3)Mix this mixture with finely chopped coriander, curry leaves and remaining banana flower.
Step 3
Add salt and rice flour and mix them well. Make the vada in the shape of small balls.
Step 4
Fry in hot oil in oil until it becomes golden brown.
Step 5
Banana flower vada is ready. Serve with tomato sauce or green chutney.
Step 6
Tip: Serve it hot. Its aroma is so tempting.
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
