Badam Chicken
A traditional Kerala sweet snack made with care and a generous hand of ghee. The kind of thing grandmothers make for festivals and grandchildren make excuses to visit for.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 1 kg Chicken thighs
- 1 cup Yoghurt
- Lemon half
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp Pepper powder
- 1 nos Egg
- 1 tbsp Corn flour
- 6 nos Badam
- 6 nos Cashewnut
Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, put yoghurt, lemon, salt and pepper powder.
Step 2
Put the chicken into this amd Stir everything together thoroughly and leave for one hour.
Step 3
Beat egg and cornflour nicely.
Step 4
Grind badam and cashewnut and put into the mix.
Step 5
Dip the chicken in the above and fry in hot oil. Serve hot.
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
