Aval Vilayichathu
Aval vilayichathu is a Kerala snack made with beaten rice,jaggery and grated coconut.Its a simple tea time snack with lots of health benefits.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Aval
- 1 cup Jaggery
- 1 Coconut — grated
- 1/2 cup Water
Preparation
Step 1
Melt jaggery in water.
Step 2
Dry roast aval for 4-5 minutes and convert into a plate.
Step 3
When the jaggery meltes completely,add grated coconut and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Add roasted aval.
Step 5
Stir everything together thoroughly and take it off the heat.
Step 6
And healthy Aval vilayichathu is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
