Ari Unda
A sweet prepared with parboiled rice. Ari Unda can be easily prepared at home with limited ingredients. unique and special with powdered rice blended with jaggery syrup and other flavoring agents.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Rice
- 3 Slabs Jaggery (Sharkkara)
- Coconut half a coconut — grated
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- Cardamom(powdered) A pinch (Elakka)
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Ari Unda, first heat a pan or a kadai.
Step 2
Fry the rice, till it turns brown and crispy.
Step 3
Boil the jaggery with some water to make a thick syrup.
Step 4
Powder the rice very finely in a mixie.
Step 5
Mix together the rice powder, jaggery syrup and the scraped coconut.
Step 6
Add ghee and cardamom powder into the mixture.
Step 7
Make small balls off the mixture.
Step 8
Delicious Ari Unda is ready.
