A Nice Breakfast With Palappam

- White rice : 2 cup (Soaked
- Coconut : 1/2 cup
- Boiled rice : 1/2 of the coconut taken
- Sugar : 1 tsp
- Yeast : a pinch
- Salt : as per taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Grind all ingredients in Mixer Grinder. Keep the mixture aside for fermentation (about 6 to 8 hrs).

Place the oiled pan over a medium flame. Pour the batter at the center and rotate the pan.

Serve it hot with sweetened coconut milk or coconut chutney.
Tip
The fermented batter is the heart of good appam. Give it at least 8 hours to rise — overnight is best. The slight sourness is what makes appam special.
