5 Star Prawns Fry With Coconut Mixture
A 5 Star Prawns Fry with Coconut Mixture in kerala style. Prawns are marinated in a spicy mixture and cooked with ginger, garlic and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- ½ kg King prawns
- 5 Cloves Garlic — chopped
- 1 piece Ginger — chopped
- 4 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 4 nos Red dry chillies
- ½ Of Bay leaves ela (Karuga)
- 3 nos Cloves (Grambu)
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)
- Curry leaves, a few
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Chilli powder
- 2 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Lime juice
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing 5 star prawns fry, first marinate the prawns with the ingredients for marination. Set aside for half an hour.
Step 2
Mix together grated coconut, coriander, turmeric, chilly powder with a pinch of salt and chopped curry leaves. Stir everything together thoroughly and set aside.
Step 3
Pour oil into a pan and heat it and cook garlic, ginger, green chillies, dry chillies, bay leaves, cumin, cloves and curry leaves.
Step 4
Add the marinated prawns and fry till done.
Step 5
When done, drain and keep in tissue.
Step 6
In the same oil, fry the grated coconut mixture and serve with fried prawns. 5 star prawns fry is ready.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
