Vellarika Pachadi
A traditional Kerala Sadya dish that carries the flavours of coconut, yogurt, and carefully balanced spices. Each component of the feast has its role, and this one brings a quiet, essential balance to the banana leaf.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 nos Cucumber grated or chopped finely, small
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 3 tbsp Coconut — grated
- 1 nos Green chilly
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Grind together grated coconut, green chilly and mustard seeds to a smooth paste.
Step 2
Add it to the cucumber and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Whisk the curd and add it to the curry.
Step 4
Season with salt.
Step 5
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil.
Step 6
Let the mustard seeds crackle and cook curry leaves.
Step 7
Add it to the pachadi and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Tip
