Soya Chunk Cutlet
A nutritious snack dish that can be ed as an appetizer too. Rich and flavorful with spicy ingredients, Soya Chunk Cutlet is rated and ed as a protein food too.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 2 cup Soya chunks
- 2 nos Onion big
- 1 piece Ginger
- 4 large Garlic cloves
- 2 - Green chillies
- Curry leaves A, a few
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 3 nos Potato boiled, medium
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Bread crumbs, to taste
- 1 - Egg
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Soya Chunk Cutlet, first soak soya chunks in hot water for 20 - 30 minutes.
Step 2
Drain and squeeze out excess water.
Step 3
Mince it in a mixie.
Step 4
Chop onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves into fine pieces and sauté` in 2 tbsp of oil.
Step 5
When it is lightly browned, add salt, coriander powder and chilli powder and sauté.
Step 6
Add the minced soya chunks and cook for few more minutes.
Step 7
Sprinkle few drops of water and Put the lid on and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 8
Add the garam masala powder and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Add the boiled and mashed potato, Stir everything together thoroughly and remove from fire.
Step 10
Allow it to cool.
Step 11
Make cutlels out of the mix, dip in beaten eggs, roll in bread crumbs and fry in oil till golden brown.
Step 12
Goes well with tomato ketchup.
Step 13
Pure vegetarians can dip the cutlets in maida batter instead of beaten egg.
Tip
Oil temperature is critical. Too hot and the outside burns before the inside cooks. Too cool and the snack absorbs oil and turns soggy.
