Rasam - Easy To Make
A hearty lentil stew loaded with vegetables, tangy tamarind, and a freshly ground spice paste — Kerala sambar is thicker and more coconut-forward than versions from other states. It gets ladled generously over rice at every meal.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 nos Tomato — cut into small pieces
- 10 nos Garlic pods — grind the garlic pod
- Tamarind, as needed
- 3 glass Water
- 1 tbsp Pepper powder
- Salt, to taste
- Coriander leaves, to taste
- 3 nos Red chillies
- 1 Stem Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 4 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Let the mustard seeds crackle followed by red chillies and curry leaves.
Step 2
To this add tomatoes and Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add Garlic pods, pepper powder, Tamarind paste and salt.
Step 4
Boil it for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Add chopped coriander leaves.
Step 6
Rasam is ready! :- Serve Rasam with Rice!
Tip
Toast the cumin seeds lightly before grinding for a deeper, nuttier flavour in the paste.
