Papaya Moru Curry
A kerala side dish recipe made with yogurt and ground coconut and it is simple kerala vegetarian curry.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 small Papaya
- 1 Cup,grated Coconut
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- Curry leaves little
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and chop raw papaya into small pieces.
Step 2
Cook papaya with rrd chilly powder,turmeric powder,green chilly,curry leaves,salt and 2 cup water.
Step 3
Grind grated coconut with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and little water to make a smooth paste.
Step 4
Pour the coconut paste and yogurt in to the cooked pappaya,let it boil.
Step 5
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and allow to crackle mustard seed in it.mix it with the curry and take it off the heat.
Step 6
Papaya moru curry is ready to serve.
Tip
For a thicker gravy, cook uncovered on medium heat for the last few minutes. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of warm water.
