Paal Kozhukkatta With Sugar
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Rice flour
- 1 Coconut — grated
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Cardamom
- 2 pinch Salt
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add rice flour,salt and water to make a dough.
Step 2
Make small gooseberry size balls and make a press on it.steam let it go for 20-25 minutes.
Step 3
Gather all the ingredients for paal kozhukkatta.
Step 4
Grind the coconut with 1/4 cup water and strain it to get thick coconut milk.
Step 5
Boil the coconut milk with sugar and crushed cardamom.
Step 6
When it start boil,add steamed rice coins.
Step 7
Cook till it becomes thick.
Step 8
Now Paal kozhukkatta is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
